Program Admission and Credential Award Requirements
Professional
Certificate (non-academic credit) admission application
Employees
participating in a COLLABORATIVE CERTIFICATE (academic credit) are required to
submit to NJIT Continuing Professional Education a straightforward
application form seeking admission in the non‑degree
(non-matriculated) NJIT admission classification. This form must be
accompanied by a current curriculum vita and by an official copy of
the transcript or diploma indicating possession, at minimum, of an
undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a
satisfactory Grade Point Average for a Graduate Certificate Program;
or an high school diploma or GED for an Undergraduate Certificate
Program. While standardized test scores (e.g.; SAT or GRE) are not
necessary for Certificate admission, at the determination of academic
personnel, completion of ancillary (bridge) course(s) may be suggested
to facilitate the student's academic performance.
To earn a
COLLABORATIVE GRADUATE CERTIFICATE, a student must comply
with all rules and regulations of academic study, and complete 12 NJIT
graduate credits in the four pre-determined courses that define the
Certificate while maintaining a 3.0 Grade Point Average.
To earn a
COLLABORATIVE UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATE, a student must
comply with all rules and regulations of undergraduate study, and
complete 18 NJIT undergraduate credits in the six pre-determined
courses that define the Certificate while maintaining a 2.5 Grade
Point Average.
It is anticipated
that some Certificate recipients may desire to continue their studies
to the corresponding bachelors or masters degree, as appropriate.
Regular procedures and policies pertain to those seeking to progress
from non-matriculated to matriculated status.
Upon completion and
submission of a successful Admissions application, all academic
credits, earned as part of COLLABORATIVE CERTIFICATE study,
transfer in total to the corresponding degree at NJIT.
